What is Dilaudid?

Dilaudid is a tradename for a potent painkilling drug thought to be 5 times stronger than morphine. Dilaudid is hydromorphone an analgesic drug in the opioid class, a derivative of morphine. Dilaudid is a semi synthetic drug, a true narcotic.
Dilaudid is habit forming and is a schedule 2 of the US controlled substances act of 1970.
A doctor in Charlottetown recently pleaded guilty on obtaining prescription narcotics under false pretenses, he supplied a prescription to a patient for dilaudid and then later buy them back from the patient. This doctor was sentenced to 2 years probation.
